Alutha Mary Catherine (Barber) McIntyre, 96, passed away peacefully on Monday November 5, 2018 at Marina Bay Nursing Home in Quincy, MA. Mary, the daughter of the late Abraham and Charlotte Barber, was born and raised in Georgetown, KY along with her six siblings. She was the beloved wife of the late James H. McIntyre for 60 years. James and Mary were high school sweethearts that married September 28, 1942. They started their family in 1943 and moved to Boston, Ma.
Mary’s passion was her faith. She loved working in the ministry and sharing the bible with anyone that wanted to hear the good news. She loved sewing, gardening, reading and most of all being with her family, who meant the world to her.
Mary was predeceased by daughter Gloria Burns and son James McIntyre. Brothers William Barber, Virgil Barber, and Leonard Barber.
She will be deeply missed by her daughter Joan, and husband Clyde Hall, daughter Renee and her husband James Martin, daughter Charlotte Cowan, son Michael H. McIntyre, Jr. and his wife Zanele, Sister Gene Frazier, Sister Charlotte and her husband Bill Williams, and Brother James Barber and his wife Emma. Mary will also be missed by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in-law and numerous friends.
