Alton B. McMillan, Sr. the sixth child of Mr. & Mrs. John Duncan McMillan was born on July 22, 1942 in Lumberton, NC
Al was educated in the North Carolina school system. In 1965 he moved to Boston to join his sister Viola who had moved here a year earlier. His first and only job was with Skippy White Records at various locations around Boston where he worked 50 plus years as salesman and manager. Al enjoyed meeting people and built up a strong clientele for the record stores. Al’s motto just Hum it and he could tell you the name of the song and the artist that sang it. In addition to his love for music Al enjoyed going to the Casino (Twin Rivers) . His favorite vacation spots were in the Carolina's where he would visit family and friends and one thing never forgot no matter how long he had visited was where everyone lived. Starting in Baltimore MD after he picked up his brother John Duncan, Jr. (JD).
To Mary, Al was a faithful and loving husband . Their friendship went back to the late 1960’s.
Al is survived by his wife Mary McMillan, his eldest son Deacon Michael Williams (wife) Aretta Williams, Alton McMillan Jr. , his two daughters Latisha and LaWanda Waiters his two step daughters Tanika Cannon and Lashawn Waiters.
