Ivy Reid was born on December 5, 1935 in St. Mary Jamaica. She was one of nine children. She was married to her late husband John Author Reid for over 30 years. She had four children of her own and was a mother to many more that came into her life. She was also a very loving and caring person that was always there with a listening ear that gave great advice, and was always available to help anyone at any time.
In 1978 she migrated to the United States with her family where she worked as a CNA to put her children through school and took care of her family here in the US and back home in Jamaica. Later she worked at Lesley University as well as Harvard University where she made many friends and became a second mother to many of the students that attended the school. Over the years she also helped many family members and others to migrate to the United States as well.
She is survived by her three sons: Ainsley, Kenneth, and Clive, Two sisters, 14 grandchildren, and even more great grandchildren. She also leaves behind countless nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Her greatest achievement was being the best mother and an even better friend to all by just being a very straight forward person that said whatever came to her mind and would make you smile no matter what it was.
