Fletcher Craig Obituary
Craig - Fletcher Craig Sr, was born Oct 19, 1934 to the late John Earl Craig and Addie Belcher Craig. At the age of 82, He went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 in his home in Boston, MA.
He was preceded in death by his wife Catherine (McClain) Craig; his sons Fletcher (Renee) Craig Jr. of BPT, CT; Tyrone (Renea) Craig Sr. of BPT, CT; Mark Craig of BPT, CT; Michael Craig of Boston, MA. His daughters Sheila Craig of BPT, CT; Wendy (Benjamin) Magee of BPT, CT; Victoria Craig of Boston, MA and Nicole Craig of Boston, MA. His daughter, Sherry Craig, preceded him in death. His companion Cornelia Osgood, Boston, MA.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Arthur Belcher, Oathur Belcher, Wayne Belcher and one survived bother John (Gail) Craig of BPT, CT. His three sisters: Allie Belcher Drye of BPT, CT and Marion Craig Williams of Inglewood, CA and preceded in death Emma Belcher Scott and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins and friends.
Fletcher was born in BPT, CT. Bridgeport is where he began his life and established his work ethics as a maintenance worker. He later moved to Boston, MA where he continued to work as a maintenance worker at IDC Housing Development and Maloney Properties. During his time in Boston, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was ordained as a minister at Rehoboth Bethel Baptist Church located in Boston, MA. It was then when he realized he was gifted with the Ministry of Help. Fletcher began to serve people in everyway possible. His interests included family, reading and sharing the Word of God. He devoted much of his time and energy as a caregiver to the elderly and individual's that were adoptive citizens to America. Whether you spoke with him in person, received a letter from him by mail or talked to him by phone. He always informed you " Jesus Loves You and I Do To"
Memorial services will be held at East End Baptist Tabernacle Church, 548 Central Ave Bridgeport, CT 06607. The service will start at 5pm and directly after the service, the family will be fellowshipping downstairs in the fellowship Hall.
