Corona Marjorie Groves, of Brighton, died peacefully early Saturday morning March 25, 2017, at the age of 96. She succumbed after a long battle with dementia. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Groves Wilson and granddaughter Chani Wilson of Hyde Park, Massachusetts and by her sister-in-law, Alice Groves, and her children Ellen Beth and Dean Mason, of Bedford, Massachusetts and a host of loving friends. Margie was born on April 13, 1920 to Emma Elizabeth Mason Groves and Lovett Bean Groves of Dorchester, Massachusetts. She was a graduate of the Dorchester Latin School, of Howard University in Washington, DC and of Simmons College in Boston, MA. She was graduated with a degree in Library Sciences, spent her early career working in Boston public library branches and in 1961 began as Librarian at Dorchester High School, Dorchester, MA from which she retired in 1982. She followed the example of her father and was an accomplished pianist and Latin scholar. She was a devoted daughter, a loving mother and a doting grandmother. She will be cremated and inurned in the family plot at Forest Hills Cemetery, Jamaica Plain, MA. The family is grateful for the condolences but declines flowers and donations.
