Claudy (Clyde) was born to Johnston & Eunice Deloatche in Northampton County, North Carolina. He was one of seven children of the family. He was preceded in death by both parents and a few of his eldest siblings; William Henry Deloatche, Emma Gibbons, and Ethel Deloatche. Claudy's remaining siblings are Mary Warren of Long Branch, New Jersey, Calvin Deloatche (Tolora) of Neptune, New Jersey, and Manuel Deloatche (Gloria) of Lowell, Massachusetts and a sister-in-law, Mary Deloatche of Boykins, Virginia. Claudy also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Mary Leonard of Boston, MA was considered a dear surrogate mother to him. Most important of all, Claudy's devoted love was to Ms. Martha Hunt, his girlfriend and companion for over 30 years. She faithfully stood by him until the he departed this life on Saturday, March 31st.
Claudy (Clyde) as a young man attended Willis Hare High School in Northampton County, North Carolina. After completing his education, Claudy (Clyde) decided to move to Boston, Massachusetts to pursue his livelihood. He followed several of his childhood friends from North Carolina to the Boston area, many which are now deceased. Claudy (Clyde) had a great sense of humor and was a generous friend to all.
Claudy (Clyde) held various job titles; bartender, taxi driver, chef, and fish/meat packer. He was an avid sports fan. His favorite sports, were football, basketball, wrestling, and baseball. He was big fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. Claudy (Clyde) gave everyone laughter with his adventurous character. He was always considered the life of the party. Finally, Claudy (Clyde) will be remembered by us all and he will be missed.
